A single moment can change everything.

On September 23, 2025, our world stopped when Chloe, just four months old, was rushed to Cook Children’s Hospital for emergency open heart surgery. Words no parent is ever prepared to hear. Chloe was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Her left ventricle was half the size of a normal heart, while her right ventricle had grown to more than double its size, placing dangerous pressure on her lungs and causing severe pulmonary hypertension.

We were devastated.

The next 30 days became the hardest of our lives. Hospital hallways filled with tears, prayers, and exhausted hope. We cried alongside other parents watching their children fight battles they never asked for. The hospital was full of families who, like us, never imagined this would be their reality.

By God’s mercy and grace, Chloe made a full recovery, and we were finally able to go home.

But heartbreakingly, not every family gets that miracle.
